Night Dive Studios has announced the release of the remastered version of the iconic 90s FPS game Star Wars: Dark Forces on February 28. Known for remastering classic games like the System Shock remake, Night Dive is bringing a new life to the 1995 Star Wars game with 4K resolution and an enhanced frame rate of 120 fps on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
The upcoming Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster version, set to be released in February, will include many next-generation features.
The remastered version also includes enhanced textures, improved lighting, and updated controls optimized for modern gaming controllers. These features encompass platform-specific elements such as gyroscopic/motion controls, haptic feedback, and a new weapon wheel.
In addition, Star Wars: Dark Forces Remaster offers a series of achievements/victories for extra gameplay challenges. The story of Dark Forces revolves around the narrative of Kyle Katarn, a mercenary who joins the Rebel Alliance after escaping the Galactic Empire.
His mission is to infiltrate the Empire and thwart their plans to build a formidable army consisting of advanced stormtroopers and combat droids known as the Dark Trooper Project. Dark Forces was the first Star Wars FPS game and is fondly remembered as one of the standout titles inspired by Doom during that era.
Dark Forces Remaster is set to be released in February 2024 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. What are your thoughts? Please feel free to share your comments with us.
